At the invitation of the city government of Yangzhou, the African Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized 22 African diplomats stationed in China to visit Yangzhou from September 24th to 26th.
While in Yangzhou, the diplomats visited Yangzhou Museum, Engraving Printing Museum, Geyuan Garden, and Slim West Lake.
They also paid a visit to Jiangsu Muyang Group and attended the Opening Ceremony of "2013 China Yangzhou World Canal Cities Expo". Zhu Minyang, mayor of Yangzhou, and Hong Jinhua, chairman of the Yangzhou Committee of the CPPCC, met with the delegation.
African diplomats expressed their gratitude for the warm hospitalities and thoughtful arrangements of the Chinese hosts. They commended the achievements Yangzhou has made in terms of economic and social development, environmental protection, and carrying on cultural heritage.
They said that they have deepened their understanding about China, which will help enhance Africa-China friendship and cooperation.
